When soaked mung bean seeds are placed in a concentrated solution, water moves out of the cells due to osmosis. The surrounding solution has higher solute concentration, causing water loss from seeds. This leads to shrinking of cells and reduction in size. The seeds become flaccid and lose their swollen condition due to water loss.
