  1. If the plant cell wall becomes as flexible as the cell membrane, the cell would lose its rigidity and fixed shape. It would not be able to withstand external pressure or maintain structure. The plant would become weak and unable to stand upright. The protective and supportive functions of the cell wall would be lost, affecting the plant’s survival.
