What are lava plateaus?

Lava plateaus are flat, elevated landforms created by the flow of lava during volcanic eruptions. When lava erupts and spreads over large areas, it cools and hardens, forming layers of solidified rock. Over time, repeated eruptions build up these layers, creating a flat or gently sloping surface known as a lava plateau. These plateaus are often found in regions with past volcanic activity. An example of a lava plateau is the Deccan Plateau in India, which was formed by volcanic eruptions millions of years ago. Lava plateaus are typically rich in minerals and can support diverse vegetation and wildlife.
