    Meristematic tissues is present in the growing regions of plants, and consists of actively dividing cells e.g., the tips of roots and stems. The cells of meristematic tissues are round, oval, polygonal or rectangular. They are closely packed without intercellular spaces, have thin cellulose walls, dense cytoplasm and prominent nuclei.
