Can saltwater be filtered to obtain salt?

  • 1

No, saltwater cannot be filtered to obtain salt because salt is dissolved in water and cannot be separated by filtration. Instead, the process of evaporation is used. When saltwater is heated, the water evaporates, leaving the salt behind as crystals. This method is commonly used to obtain salt from seawater.

No, but evaporation can separate the salt.
Explanation: Filtration won’t work since salt is dissolved; evaporation removes water, leaving salt.
