Why is a seed considered living?

  • 1

A seed is considered living because it has the potential to grow into a new plant. It contains all the necessary parts like the embryo, stored food, and a protective coat that allow it to germinate under the right conditions. When a seed absorbs water, it starts to sprout, showing signs of life such as growth and development. Therefore, despite being inactive for a while, a seed is alive and capable of producing a new plant.
