After a hot shower, the water vapor in the warm air comes into contact with the cooler surface of the mirror. As the warm air cools down when it touches the mirror, the water vapor turns back into tiny droplets of water. This process is called condensation. The result is the misty appearance or droplets of water on the mirror, which happens because the air can’t hold as much moisture when it cools.
