When a 12 V battery is connected across an unknown resistor, there is a current of 2.5 mA in the circuit. Find the value of the resistance of the resistor.

  1. According to Ohm’s law, V = IR
    ⟹𝑅=𝑉/𝐼
    Here, V = 12 V and I = 2.5 mA = 0.0025 A
    Therefore,
    𝑅=12/0.0025=4800 Ω=4.8 kΩ
