In The Tiger King by Kalki, the general attitude of human beings towards wild animals is portrayed as one of arrogance and dominance, often stemming from a desire to conquer and control nature. The protagonist, the Maharaja, epitomizes this attitude as he seeks to kill tigers to prove his bravery and secure his position. This reflects a broader human tendency to view wild animals as trophies or symbols of power, leading to reckless behaviors that disregard the ecological balance and the inherent value of wildlife. Through satire, the story critiques this mindset, revealing the foolishness of treating nature as something to be conquered rather than respected.
