What is the frigid zone?

The frigid zone refers to the regions near the North and South Poles, where the climate is extremely cold. It includes areas within the Arctic Circle in the Northern Hemisphere and the Antarctic Circle in the Southern Hemisphere. The frigid zone experiences long, harsh winters and short, cool summers. Due to the tilt of the Earth’s axis, these regions receive very little direct sunlight, especially during winter, resulting in freezing temperatures. The frigid zone is sparsely populated due to its extreme climate, with most of the land being covered in ice and snow.
