What is scientific theory?

  • 1

A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of a natural phenomenon that is based on a large body of evidence collected through observation, experimentation, and analysis. It is not a mere guess or speculation but a comprehensive framework that unifies and explains a range of observations and experimental results.

  1. Theory is the name given to a set of limited number of laws in terms of which the behaviour of a physical system can be explained. A good theory should not only explain the allready existing phenomena but it should be able to predict and explain the new phenomenon.
