What is Greenland?

Greenland is the world’s largest island, located in the North Atlantic Ocean, to the northeast of Canada. It is an autonomous territory of Denmark. Despite its name, much of Greenland is covered by a vast ice sheet, making it extremely cold and sparsely populated. The island is known for its dramatic landscapes, including glaciers, fjords, and mountains. Greenland’s economy relies mainly on fishing, hunting, and tourism. It is also significant for scientific research, particularly related to climate change and the Arctic environment.
