  1. The term “Cow’s Mouth” translates to Gaumukh, a glacier located in Uttarakhand at the base of the Gangotri Glacier. The glacier is named so because its snout resembles the shape of a cow’s mouth. It is the source of the Bhagirathi River, which later merges with the Alaknanda at Devprayag to form the Ganga. Gaumukh holds religious importance for Hindus and attracts pilgrims and trekkers due to its spiritual and natural significance.
