      The cell membrane allows the movement of all material across it.
      The plasma membrane or cell membrane allows or permits the entry and exit of some materials in and out of the cell. That’s why, it is also known as selectively permeable membrane.

      (D) Plasma membranes contain chitin sugar in plants.
      Each cell is surrounded by an extremely delicate, thin elastic living membrane called the plasma membrane. The plasma membrane is made up of two layers of lipid (fat) molecules with protein molecules sandwiched between the lipid layer.
