    1. (10)^2y = 25

      So,

      [(10)^y]^2 = 25

      and

      (10)^y = square root (25) = 5

      Therefore,

      [10]^(-y) = 1/5

      100y=25
      Y=25÷100=1\4
      10^-y=-10y^1×1\4
      Y=-10×1\4=-0.25
