After the digestion of carbohydrates in the small intestine, glucose is absorbed into the bloodstream. In the kidneys, glucose is typically filtered out of the blood during the initial stages of urine formation. However, under normal physiological conditions, almost all of the filtered glucose is reabsorbed by the renal tubules and returned to the bloodstream, helping to maintain normal blood glucose levels.
