By singing and preaching in vernacular languages rather than elite classical Sanskrit, they made spiritual ideas universally accessible. Shared community singing (bhajans), collective pilgrimage and egalitarian community kitchens brought peasants, artisans and marginalized groups into a unified cultural space, strengthening social cohesion and shared cultural identity.
