  1. The Sundarbans Delta is located in the lower Gangetic region where the Ganga and Brahmaputra rivers meet the Bay of Bengal. It is the world’s largest delta and features a vast mangrove forest spread across India and Bangladesh. The region is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for housing the endangered Royal Bengal Tiger, crocodiles and a wide variety of birds and aquatic species. Its tidal rivers and swamps are ecologically rich, but the area is also prone to floods and cyclones.
