A particle moving in a straight line covers half the distance with speed of 3 metre per second. Another half of the distance is covered in two equal time intervals with the speed of 4.5 metre per second and 7.5 metre per second respectively. The average speed of the particle duration during this motion is
Let “s” be the distance covered, then –
t₁ = s/2/3 = s/6
s/2 = 4.5t₂ + 7.5t₃ = 12t₂
Average Speed = Total Distance/Total Time
= S / s/6 + s/24 + s/24
= 4 m/s
