  1. Case-1:

    Speed = (Distance/time)

    ∴ Distance = (Speed × Time)

    = (60×2) km

    = 120 km.

    ∴ The car travels a distance of 120 km.

    Case-2:

    Distance = 120 km.

    Speed = 80 km/h

    Distance= (Speed× Time)

    ∴ Time = (Distance/Speed)

    = (120/80)

    =(3/2) [∵ Dividing 120 and 80 by 40.]

    = 1 hour (1×60/2) minutes [∵ 1 hour = 60 minutes.]

    = 1 hour 30 minutes.

    ∴ It will take 1 hour 30 minutes to cover the distance.

  2. Let the number of hours be x.
    Speed (in km/hr) 60 80
    Time (in hours) 2 x
    Here, the speed of car and time are in inverse proportion.
    ∴ 60/80 = x/2 ⇒ xX80 = 60×2 ⇒ x= 60×2/80=3/2 = (1)1/2 hrs
    Hence, the car will take hours (1)1/2 hrs to reach its destination.
