To overcome this, I fixed the wood tightly in the bench vice, carefully marked the line and sawed slowly with patience. I also practiced on a waste piece before cutting the actual wood. While making my bamboo product, I faced difficulties in cutting the bamboo culm evenly. The hacksaw sometimes slipped and the edges were rough. To overcome this, I marked the cut clearly with a pencil, fixed the bamboo tightly in the vice and used the hacksaw slowly. I also asked my teacher for guidance. With practice and patience, I was able to cut and smoothen it properly.
