  1. A globe is a three-dimensional, spherical representation of the Earth, closely mimicking its true shape. It provides a more accurate portrayal of distances, shapes, and spatial relationships between continents and oceans. In contrast, flat maps distort these features, especially near the poles, due to the difficulty in representing a curved surface on a flat sheet. Globes, therefore, are essential tools for understanding global geography, providing a more precise view of the Earth’s surface than maps.
