Water forms droplets on the outside of a cold glass because of condensation. When a cold glass is exposed to warm air, the moisture in the air cools down when it touches the glass. As the air cools, the water vapor turns into tiny liquid droplets. This happens because the temperature of the glass is lower than the dew point of the air, causing the water vapor to condense and form droplets on the surface of the glass.
