Why do Bholi’s parents accept Bishamber’s marriage proposal?

Bholi’s parents accepted Bishamber’s marriage proposal because he was a well set man. He had own house and a big shop. They feared that if they don’t accept the proposal, she would not be married for the rest of her life. They thought that this was their only chance as Bishamber was from another village and did not about her pock-marks and lack of sense.
