  1. India’s national aquatic animal is the Ganges river dolphin. It lives in the rivers of India, especially in the Ganga. This dolphin is special because it cannot see very well and depends on sound, or echolocation, to move and find food. It is a rare and endangered species, and protecting it helps save our rivers too. Its presence shows the health of our freshwater ecosystems.
