The sum is the result obtained by adding two or more numbers together. In mathematics it refers to the total value after addition. For example in the sum of 3 and 5 the result is 8. The sum is used in various operations to combine values or quantities.
In Class 6 Maths Chapter 10 titled The Other Side of Zero students explore the concept of positive and negative numbers. The chapter introduces the number line where zero divides positive and negative numbers. Students learn about addition subtraction and real-life applications of negative numbers such as temperature and finances.
