  • 1

The Great Bath of Mohenjo-daro, a remarkable structure from the Harappan Civilization, is considered one of the earliest examples of public water architecture. Located in present-day Pakistan, it is a large, rectangular tank built with tightly fitted bricks and coated with waterproof material to prevent leakage. Surrounding the bath are steps leading into the tank and small rooms, possibly for changing. It is believed to have been used for ritual bathing, reflecting the importance of cleanliness and religious practices in Harappan society. The Great Bath showcases the advanced engineering and urban planning skills of the Harappans.
