Relative humidity is the percentage of water vapor present in the air compared to the maximum it can hold at a given temperature. If the air holds all the moisture it can, the relative humidity is 100%. Dry weather has lower relative humidity.

  1. Relative humidity refers to the amount of water vapor present in the air as a percentage of the maximum it could hold at that temperature. When the air is fully saturated, the relative humidity is 100%. In dry conditions, it’s often 20%–40%, while in humid weather, it ranges from 60% to 80%. It affects how comfortable we feel—high humidity makes us sweat more. Hygrometers are used to measure relative humidity in homes, industries and weather stations.
