  1. Ultraviolet (UV) rays from the Sun can be harmful to humans. Overexposure may lead to skin burns, aging, eye damage and even skin cancer. Fortunately, Earth is protected by a layer of ozone in the atmosphere, which absorbs and blocks most of the Sun’s dangerous UV rays. This ozone layer acts like a sunscreen for the entire planet. Preserving it is important to ensure the continued protection of all living beings from harmful solar radiation.
