State the two laws of refraction.

(i) The incident ray, the refracted ray and the normal, all lie in the same plane.
(ii) The ratio of the sine of the angle of incidence and sine of the angle of refraction is a constant i.e.,
sin i/sin r = Constant.
The constant is called refractive index.
