  1. x+7 – 8x/3 = 17/6 – 5x/2
    ⟹ x/1 – 8x/3 + 5x/2 = 17/6 – 7/1 ⟹ 6x-16x+15x/6 = 17-42/6
    ⟹ 5x/6 = -25/6 ⟹ x= -25×6/6×5 ⟹ x=-5
    To check:
    x+7 – 8x/3 = 17/6 – 5x/2
    ⟹ -5+7- 8x(-5)/3 = 17/6 – 5x(-5)/2 ⟹ 2+ 40/3=17/6+25/2
    ⟹ 6+40/3 = 17+75/6 ⟹ 46/3 = 92/6 ⟹ 46/3=46/3
    ⟹ L.H.S. = R. H. S.
    Therefore, it is correct.
