  1. Why Saniya’s statement is wrong :
    i) Antibiotics only work against bacterial infections, not viral once like the flu or common cold.
ii) Over use or miss use of antibiotics can lead to antibiotics resistance, making them less effective in the future.
iii) Some disease are caused by fungi, Protozoa, or ,viruses which require different treatments. Vinita can ask Saniya, did you know that antibiotics don’t work on viruses like the flu or measles? they’re only useful for bacterial infections. Also if we take antibiotics when we don’t need them they might stop working when we really do that’s why doctors can careful about prescribing them.

  2. Vinita might say, “Saniya, do you know that antibiotics work only on bacteria, not viruses? So they can’t cure flu, cold or COVID-19.” She can also ask, “What happens if we take antibiotics for the wrong illness?” and “Have you heard of antibiotic resistance?” These questions can help Saniya think and realize that antibiotics are not a cure-all and must be used carefully to avoid harmful effects.
