In Class X math, to determine whether a pair of equations is consistent, we can solve for values of x and y that satisfy both equations. We can solve for x in the first equation or substitute this value into the second equation.
On comparing the ratios, a₁/a₂, b₁/b₂ and c₁/c₂, find out whether the pair of linear equations are consistent, or inconsistent. 3x + 2y = 5; 2x – 3y = 7
