    1. Five rivers flowing into the Bay of Bengal are: Ganga, Mahanadi, Godavari, Krishna and Cauvery. India’s coastal states include West Bengal, Odisha andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra and Gujarat. The Eastern Coastal Plain is wide and flat, with large fertile deltas due to slow-flowing rivers. The Western Coastal Plain is narrow and rocky, with fast rivers forming estuaries. This difference affects agriculture, trade, ports and biodiversity along each coastline.
