The correct answer is (a) no net charge is enclosed by the surface. According to Gauss’s law, the net electric flux through a closed surface is proportional to the total charge enclosed. If the flux is zero, the total enclosed charge must also be zero.

    According to Gauss’s law, the net electric flux through a closed surface is given by
    Φ = Qenc/ϵ0
    ​. If the flux is zero, the net charge enclosed (Qenc) must also be zero, meaning either no charge is inside or equal positive and negative charges cancel out.
