Identify the slope of the line from the graph and explain how you calculated it using the two points on the line.

  • 1

Using the points (0, 0) and (2, 6), the slope is calculated as the ratio of rise to run: (6 − 0) / (2 − 0) = 6 / 2 = 3. Thus, the line has a slope of 3.

  1. The slope of a straight line is defined as the change in the vertical direction divided by the change in the horizontal direction, given by the formula (y₂ − y₁) / (x₂ − x₁). Taking the given points (0, 0) and (2, 6) on the graph, the slope equals (6 − 0) / (2 − 0) = 6 / 2 = 3. Hence, the slope of the line is 3.
