Factors are numbers that divide another number exactly without leaving a remainder. For example the factors of 12 are 1 2 3 4 6 and 12. Every number has at least two factors 1 and itself. Factors are important for solving problems related to division and prime factorization.

      The number 28 has 6 factors. The factors of 28 are 1 2 4 7 14 and 28. The total count of these factors is 6. Therefore the correct answer is 6.
