While leaders like Maharana Pratap deployed guerrilla tactics across rough hills to resist imperial subjugation, others formed strategic confederacies and diplomatic treaties. Rulers forged regional matrimonial alliances, entered negotiated peace pacts to avoid destructive pillaging and pooled military forces with neighboring chieftains to counter dominant empires, thereby preserving administrative independence and cultural continuity.
