Communicable diseases are caused by pathogens like bacteria and viruses. They spread through air, water, food, insect bites or direct contact with infected people or surfaces. Hygiene and vaccination help prevent their spread.

  1. Communicable diseases are caused by germs called pathogens. These can spread in many ways—through sneezing, coughing, touching infected surfaces, drinking unclean water, eating contaminated food or mosquito bites. Diseases like flu, dengue and typhoid are examples. To stop their spread, we must wash hands, cover our mouth when sneezing, boil water, avoid sharing personal items and get vaccinated. Clean surroundings and early treatment also help protect others.
