Give a brief description of the Tropical Rainforests.

(i) They are found in areas having more than 200 cm of rainfall.
(ii) Since the region is warm and wet throughout the year’, it has luxuriant vegetation of all kinds-trees, shrubs and creepers.
(iii) There is no definite time for trees to shed their leaves and forests remain green all the year round.
(iv) Some of the commercially important trees found here are-ebony, mahogany, rosewood, rubber and cinchona.
(v) Common animals found in these forests are elephants, monkeys, lemur and deer.
