Estimate how many scoops of ice cream can be obtained from a cuboidal container of dimensions 10 cm × 15 cm × 20 cm.

  • 1

Container volume is 10 × 15 × 20 = 3000 cm³. Assuming spherical scoops of radius 2.5 cm with volume ≈ 65.45 cm³, dividing 3000 by 65.45 gives approximately 45 to 46 scoops of ice cream.

1 Answer

  1. The total volume of the cuboidal ice cream tub is 10 cm × 15 cm × 20 cm = 3000 cm³. Assuming an average spherical scoop has a diameter of 5 cm (radius r = 2.5 cm), each scoop has a volume of (4/3)πr³ = (4/3) × 3.14 × 2.5³ ≈ 65.45 cm³. Dividing the total volume by one scoop gives 3000 / 65.45 ≈ 46 scoops.
