    1. The first vaccine was discovered by Edward Jenner in 1796. He noticed that people who had cowpox did not get smallpox. He tested this by giving cowpox to a boy and later exposed him to smallpox. The boy didn’t fall sick. This experiment led to the development of the smallpox vaccine and began the global journey of vaccinations to prevent deadly diseases in humans.
