Proper planning before a disaster helps reduce risks and ensures the safety of people during emergencies. A well-prepared checklist includes emergency supplies, evacuation plans, communication methods, and basic safety practices that can save lives during natural disasters.
Divide the class into three groups. Each group will work on one project (water, wind, and glacier). The project should highlight the causes, impact on human life and the environment, and mitigation measures.

Group 1: Water
Our group will study the role of water in shaping the Earth’s surface. Flowing water causes erosion by cutting rocks and carrying soil from one place to another. It also deposits sediments, which form landforms such as flood plains and deltas. Sometimes, heavy rainfall and floods cause loss of life, damage to crops, houses, and roads. To reduce these problems, we should plant more trees, improve drainage systems, and use flood warning systems so that people can move to safer places in time.
Group 2: Wind
Our group will study how wind changes the landscape, especially in deserts. Strong winds carry sand and small rock particles, which erode rocks and form features like sand dunes and mushroom rocks. Dust storms and strong winds can damage crops, reduce visibility, and affect people’s health. Planting trees, protecting vegetation, and controlling desertification can help reduce the harmful effects of wind erosion.
Group 3: Glacier
Our group will study the work of glaciers in mountain regions. Glaciers move slowly and erode rocks, forming U-shaped valleys and other landforms. Due to global warming, glaciers are melting faster, which can cause floods and increase the risk of water shortages in the future. We can reduce these problems by protecting the environment, reducing pollution, and taking steps to control climate change.
