      x² + 3x + 1 = (x – 2)²
      simplifying the given equation, we get
      x² + 3x + 1 = (x – 2)²
      ⇒ x² + 3x + 1 = x² – 4x + 4
      ⇒ 7x – 3 = 0
      or 7x – 3 = 0
      This is not an equation of type ax² + bx + c = 0.
      Hence, the given equation is a quadratic equation.
