Are the doors in your school suitable for people in wheelchairs.

  1. For a door to be suitable for a wheelchair, it generally needs a clear opening of at least 32 to 36 inches. Most modern school buildings are designed with these wider doors to be inclusive. If you measure your school doors and find they are 3 feet wide and lack high steps at the entrance, they are likely suitable. Doors that are too heavy or narrow would make access difficult.
