Another day, Raman’s father cut all the parathas in 1/4. Dadaji took 9 pieces of 1/4 paratha. How many parathas did he eat?

Nine quarters equal 9/4 parathas. 9/4 means 2¼ parathas. So, Dadaji ate 2 full parathas and one quarter paratha that day.

  1. All parathas were cut into fourths. Dadaji ate 9 such pieces. That is 9 × 1/4 = 9/4 parathas. When I write it as a mixed number, it becomes 2¼. This means he ate 2 whole parathas and one piece of 1/4 paratha more. So, his total food was 2¼ parathas.
