  1. During day time, as the rate of photosynthesis is more than the rate of respiration, the net result is evolution of oxygen. At night there is no photosynthesis, so they give out carbon dioxide due
    to respiration.

  2. This is an incorrect statement. All plants carry on respiration throughout 24 hours and thus give out carbon dioxide during the day as well as night. But photosynthesis happens only in presence of sunlight and so oxygen is released during daytime

  3. Yes, the statement is correct. Plants respire throughout the whole day, while photosynthesis process takes place only in the presence of sunlight. In daytime, CO₂ produced during respiration is used by the plants in photosynthesis. So, CO₂ is not released into the environment. The oxygen produced during photosynthesis, is released into air through stomata.
Now, try to understand that – at night, when there is no photosynthesis process is happen, no oxygen is released. Also, CO₂ produced during respiration is not used by the plants. So, it is released in the air.
