A composite number is a positive integer greater than 1 that has more than two factors. Unlike prime numbers which have only two factors 1 and the number itself composite numbers have additional factors. For example 6 is composite because its factors are 1 2 3 and 6.

In this chapter students learn about prime numbers composite numbers and their characteristics. It covers identifying factors prime factorization and divisibility rules. The chapter also introduces perfect numbers and explains their properties. Understanding HCF and LCM is emphasized with various problems to improve calculation and problem-solving skills.

      A composite number is one that has more than two factors. It can be divided by at least one number other than 1 and itself. For example 4 is a composite number because its factors are 1 2 and 4. Unlike prime numbers which only have two factors composite numbers have additional factors.
