  1. The total resistance in the circuit is Rcell+Rwire = 3Ω + 3Ω = 6Ω
    The current is I = 10V/6Ω = 5/3 A. The potential gradient is V/L = IR/500 = 5/3 3/500 = 10 mV/cm. Answer: (b).
