Share
Autotrophic nutrition takes place through the process of photosynthesis. Carbon dioxide, water, chlorophyll pigment, and sunlight are the necessary conditions required for autotrophic nutrition. Carbohydrates (food) and O2 are the by-products of photosynthesis.
6CO₂ + 6H₂O → C6H₁₂O6 + 6O₂
Conditions necessary for photosynthesis:
Sunlight, carbon dioxide and chlorophyll.
Byproduct of photosynthesis: Oxygen
Necessary conditions for autotrophic nutrition :
(i) Presence of chlorophyll in the living cells.
(if) Provision of supply of water to green plants or cells of the plant.
(iii) Sufficient sunlight.
(iv) Sufficient supply of carbon dioxide.
By-product of auto tropic nutrition is oxygen
Autotrophic nutrition or photosynthesis is a process by which organic food is manufactured from inorganic raw materials. The basic requirements for the photosynthetic process are chlorophyll, carbon dioxide, water and light. During this process oxygen and water are produced as by-products.
